FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything drivers ask before running with Trucksmile, answered straight.

Getting started

Do I need a CDL to haul cars?+

Not necessarily. A 3-car hotshot setup (pickup + gooseneck trailer) usually stays under 26,000 lbs GVWR and runs on a regular license in most states. Larger rigs (6 to 9-car) do require a CDL. We help you confirm what applies to your setup.

Do you work with new car haulers?+

Yes. Many of our drivers started with zero car hauling experience. Your dispatcher walks you through your first loads, from strapping vehicles to paperwork.

How do I apply?+

Fill out the application form or message us on WhatsApp. Our team reviews your profile and calls you to explain the next steps.

What documents do I need?+

An active MC/DOT authority and a valid driver’s license. Just getting your MC? We guide you through the waiting period so you can start as soon as it clears.

Payments

How fast do I get paid?+

Twice a week, while most of the market pays once. Two paydays, every week.

How does the receivables advance work?+

If you need cash before a load settles, we advance what you have coming. Blown tire, surprise maintenance or a mid-week cash crunch, it’s covered.

How do I track my payments?+

Through our platform: every load shows its value, status and expected pay date. You know exactly what you’ll receive before you hit the road.

Equipment

Do I need my own truck and trailer?+

No. Through our partners you can rent a truck for ~US$800/week and a trailer from ~US$200/week depending on size. Many drivers started that way and bought their own equipment later.

What equipment do you dispatch?+

From 3-car hotshot/gooseneck rigs to 6-car, 7–9 car and enclosed. Each setup has its own market, and your dispatcher builds your week around what pays best for yours.

What insurance do I need?+

Typically $1M auto liability plus cargo coverage sized for the vehicles you haul. Our team reviews your policy before your first load.

Commission

How much does a car hauling dispatcher charge?+

Trucksmile charges a commission per load — [PLACEHOLDER: % final da comissão] — with no monthly fee and no sign-up fee. You only pay on loads we actually book for you.

Is there a contract or monthly fee?+

No monthly fee, no sign-up fee, no exclusivity contract. You stay because it works, not because you’re locked in.

What load boards do you use?+

Central Dispatch, Super Dispatch, CarsArrive, RPM Freight and Acertus, plus direct broker relationships built through daily negotiation.

Support

How does 24/7 support work?+

Any problem on the road, any hour, someone who speaks your language picks up: English, Portuguese or Spanish. From a ghosting broker to a mechanical issue, we step in with you.

What routes and regions do you cover?+

Coast to coast across the lower 48. Your dispatcher builds lanes around your home base and how often you want to be home.
